Not so fast!

Rachael has a tooth! I felt it today when I was walking around with her at a Halloween Carnival. I was all at once proud and a little bit sad that she's growing up so fast.

Here are some recent pictures of the big girl!

Celebrating 100 Years of the Gunnison Tunnel

Water is a big deal out here in Colorado, especially here on the Western Slope. Montrose has a lot of good farmland but it's only because of the Gunnison Tunnel which celebrates its 100th birthday this year. Today there was a big parade with lots of old cars, a float full of square dancers, and some neat old tractors. I did not take one picture of any of them. But I did end up with the ones below which will hopefully make up for it.

More Pictures!

Here she is, doing what she does best!

The Carnival!

We took Elena to one of those "parking lot" carnivals last week. She loved it and we loved watching her excitement over riding all of the rides.

The Big Sister

Guess who is the best big sister ever? It's true, it's Elena Crase!

She's Here! She's Here!

Rachael Elizabeth Crase was born on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 at 7:16pm. She weighed 8lbs, 3oz (predicted by her mama) and was 19 inches long. She looks just like her big sister did when whe was born. She has been a perfect little lady and is nursing great and making lots of diapers for us to change.

Happy Birthday Elena!!

If you can believe it, Elena Rebecca Crase is now 4 years old! We've had a good day today, starting with a cupcake for breakfast, a trip to the park, and a new play kitchen when she got home.

Elena is becoming quite the photographer:

And she is an excellent cook. She made us Roast Beast Pie for lunch:

Festivities planned for tonight include a special requested dinner of spaghetti and meatballs prepared by her Grandma Minnie with more cupcakes for dessert. There might be another present or two to unwrap as well!

Holiday Program at School

Elena's holiday program was scheduled during the last week before Christmas break started and was then cancelled due to a snow storm. Luckily they rescheduled for last week so we got to get her all dressed up and take her to the show!

Here she is with Kaitlyn, Tess, and PJ:

The preschoolers were first on stage and did a wonderful rendition of Ring Those Bells and The Snake Baked a Hoe Cake.

And here she is backstage with some of her admirers:
